Santa and the KidsSanta and the KidsEvery year the Children's Museum of Richmond hosts a "Tea with Santa" event. Since we are finally in Richmond, we decided to get tickets and go this year. It was a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, we had tickets to "A Christmas Carol" at Theatre IV yesterday and it was canceled due to the snow so we were glad that Santa didn't have to cancel as well.

The first (and possibly only) snow of the year has begun in Richmond this evening. Conveniently aligning itself with the kids getting out of school for Winter Break. No snow days from school for them. Oh well.

Trick or treating is now complete and the kids brought home a MAJOR haul this year. Not too many kids out, but they scored well because of it. Here's a couple of pics of them in their costumes:

Fall in the Blue Ridge MountainsFall in the Blue Ridge MountainsAfter a windy, oddly hot, day yesterday, we took advantage of the cooler weather and bright blue skies to made a long overdue trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Taxi!Taxi! It was a beautiful day to be outdoors today, so we headed out to a local farm to have a hayride and visit the pumpkin patch. They had a farm market and a haybale maze as well, so it turned out to be even better than expected. Best of all, it was free. (Except for the pumpkins we bought....three good sized pumpkins and 8 ears of corn for $12. Not bad!)

Here's a link to some photos.

Happy Fall!
