Let it snow! (In Richmond, this time.)
The first (and possibly only) snow of the year has begun in Richmond this evening. Conveniently aligning itself with the kids getting out of school for Winter Break. No snow days from school for them. Oh well.
It started to snow just as the kids got out of the bath and they DEMANDED to go out and play. In the snowy dark. How could I say no to that? (I can't really blame them as this is the first backyard they've had with snow in it.) So they put on their jammies, coats, gloves, and boots and off we went. It was a very wet snow, but it was settling fast and the kids loved it.
The last snow I remember in Richmond was after I moved back to Richmond in 1995 after finishing up my degree.
January 1996 bought a lot of snow. It was great. So I'm thinking that perhaps my presence in any city is like asking for snow to arrive. Afterall, it even snowed in March in Las Vegas when we moved there. And, once, in Pheonix it snowed, too. Crazy! I have the power to change weather systems. Tee hee hee.
They are now finally in bed, but I'm expecting an early morning tomorrow. For now, I'll just enjoy the beautiful, peaceful evening snowfall.
Happy Winter,
Helen, Robert, Jack, and Emma
