The 19th Wife (David Ebershoff)
Since living in Utah, I've had a somewhat unnatural interest in mormon-abilia. Well, at least, I'm interested in the mormon culture. It is quite unique and interesting sociologically because it is so new and exists so completely within the larger culture of the US.
Anyway, I just read a really interesting novel, The 19th Wife, about polygamy, both in the early days of mormon occupation of Utah and in the present. Well worth the read. It is well written and well thought out. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys historically based fictions, mild thrillers, and general fiction.
