The Mason Family Circus

I know this is an extremely HOT book series right now, but I'm flummoxed. I should start by saying that I'm not a huge fan of the vampire genre, but everyone told me that this one was different. I finally made it through Harry Potter (which I'd been resisting for years!) and really loved it, so I thought maybe I should give Twilight a go.

Now, I think I'm pretty disappointed. This is really a series written for 9th graders and it shows. The characters are only superficially complex, the romance is not believable (unless you're a 9th grader, I guess), and the writing lacks subtlty. It just feels like a writer "putting on airs". Now I'm sure that there are millions who will disagree with my humble opnion (feel free to share here) and maybe I got my hopes up, but overall, I wish I'd spent the time doing something else.
